The official boxing season takes place from September to April, with most tournaments occurring in Berkeley, San Jose, Las Vegas, and Reno during the Spring semester. Regional and National tournaments may occur in farther locations. The Cal Boxing team competes in the Western Region, which includes San Jose State University; Santa Clara University; University of Nevada, Las Vegas; University of Nevada, Reno; University of San Francisco,and the Air Force Academy (Colorado). New teams are forming at UC Davis and at Sonama State as well.
Other tournaments take place in the Fall semester, with competitive sparring opportunities for team members. Some class members may be eligible to participate with permission from the Head Coach, and contingent upon their registration with USA Boxing and the NCBA. All participants are screened by a doctor as well.
